Veltris in the Vilderness

Day 11 Location: Leskinen Creek Distance: 18 miles Weather: Warm and less humid & sunny Mood: Ready to go All was dry today for a change.  We hiked our furthest miles on the trail today at almost 18 miles!  We had lunch on Lilly's Island which we were told by a local hiker that it was named after the original land owner's dog. There was an Adirondack chair on the island and Anthony let me have it as he said my aged bones needed the chair more than his.  He laid on a rock. It was a beautiful view of the lake. With the longer miles, we were hungrier as well.  Anthony thought this mushroom looked like pie.  What do you think? We ended at camp with four other southbound hikers and chatted for a while before calling it a night.  Tomorrow will be our first 20 mile day!
